The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpar RI) emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacity of local human resources (HR) in supporting the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) industry in the regions, especially in Madiun Regency and its surroundings. This was conveyed by the Young Expert Policy Analyst of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Nia Agmon, when she was a resource person in the Socialization of HR Capacity Improvement in the Framework of Supporting the MICE Industry, at the Aston Hotel Madiun, Tuesday (15/4/2025).
Nia said that improving the quality of HR in the regions is a strategic step so that local communities can take an active part in the growth of the MICE industry, both at the regional, national, and international levels.
“We hope that this activity will not only be a forum for conveying information, but also a space for discussion and collaboration between industry players, communities, and local governments in increasing the capacity of competitive HR,” she said.
She also added that the strength of regions such as Madiun lies in the uniqueness of culture and local wisdom that can be developed into event-based tourist attractions.
“MICE is not just about buildings and meetings. It is also about the stories, culture, and people behind it. This is the importance of building a strong local narrative,” explained Nia.
Through the active involvement of MSMEs, cultural figures, creative communities, and the education sector, the Ministry of Tourism hopes that an inclusive and sustainable MICE industry ecosystem will be born in Madiun Raya.
The event itself was attended by dozens of participants from various sectors, including creative industry players, local entrepreneurs, tourism communities, and was fully supported by Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
