The Indonesian furniture and craft industry is once again beating fast with the presence of the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, March 6-9, 2025.
This B2B exhibition is a magnet for industry players from all over the world. IFEX is an ideal platform for designers, manufacturers and exporters to showcase their innovative products.
This event was also utilized by President University through its interior design study program which brought 30 of its best students to enliven the prestigious event.
This event is not just an ordinary exhibition but a golden opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they have learned in college to the real world. They will showcase their best works, the results of the creative and innovative processes that have been carried out so far.
“We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to write and exhibit at IFEX 2025. This is an extraordinary opportunity for our students to show their potential to industry players. We hope that this participation can open up opportunities for collaboration and careers for them in the future,” said the Head of the President University Interior Designer Study Program, Pratiwi Purnama Suradhuhita, S.T., M. Ars in her official statement, Saturday (03/15/2025).
Pratiwi explained that participation in the IFEX 2025 event aims to promote the Interior Design study program, promote student work, and networking.
“One of our first goals in participating in IFEX 2025 is to promote the Interior Design study program, that President University has an Interior Design study program that is very active in various activities. Then secondly, to also promote student work,” said Pratiwi.
The works that will be exhibited by President University students include various types of interior design products, ranging from furniture, lighting, to decorative elements. Each work has its own characteristics and uniqueness, reflecting the creativity and vision of the students.
“We also have many results of children’s work assignments that are worthy of being exhibited. In addition, we also exhibit the results of children’s economic survival work. So in our President University courses, we have an economic survival course, where students are taught to make an item and sell it,” he said.
“The third goal, continued Pratiwi, is for student exposure, so that students are trained. So interior design is one of the careers that can be taken by interior design students. When they graduate, they don’t just make houses or hotels, they can also become exhibition designers and furniture designers.
In addition to exhibiting their work, President University students will also have the opportunity to interact directly with industry players, network, and gain new insights into the latest trends and developments in the world of interior design.
“This is an experience at an international exhibition, where the standards and quality control are stricter than regular exhibitions. So that these children also know how to be part of an exhibitor, specifically as an exhibitor for an international exhibition,” said Pratiwi.
Meanwhile, Dr. Agus Canny, M.A., M.Sc., Dean of FADA (Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture), expressed his gratitude for the dedication of the Head of the Interior Design Study Program in empowering students.
“This support allows Interior Design students to participate in the B2B JIFEX exhibition on March 6-9, 2025 in Kemayoran, an important platform to expand professional networks with industry players, including international buyers and sellers, and open up career opportunities in the future.” Agus said.
President University’s participation in IFEX 2025 is real evidence of the university’s commitment to supporting the development of the creative industry in Indonesia. It is hoped that this participation can inspire students and other industry players to continue to innovate and produce the best works.
